I am not a fan of the lighting on this one... but its basically the only one I took today. Oh well. Zachariah has recently learned that he can "draw" on the condensation that covers the windows in the mornings. Its his new favorite. :)
The reason that you don't like the lighting on this one is that it's underexposed. Have you read about metering yet?
Basically, your camera was trying to meter (or get the correct exposure) for the light coming in the window. What you WANT to do is have your camera meter for Z's face.
I may be 12 steps ahead of you in your photography journey, but I just thought i would explain in case you had read up on metering yet. :)
I have created this blog in an attempt to improve my photography. I will try to post one picture every weekday (most will probably be of my son, but I may eventually branch out and photograph someone or something else). This will hopefully motivate me to learn more about my camera and editing pictures. Keep in mind that I am a beginner. My pictures will not look professional, and I am sure that some of them will look downright awful. I welcome advice, pointers and tips... because, well lets be honest. I need all the help I can get. :)
I am a 25 year old stay at home mom to the most adorable 3 year old little boy and a wife of 4 years to the most amazing guy in the world. I am a horrible house wife, a wanna be photographer and a sucker for a good movie.

I JUST read about metering the day after I took this picture!
I never knew there were so many things that I needed to get a handle on! Whew!
